Dufner Heighes is a full-service architecture and interior design firm established in New York City in 1999. The firm creates highly personal environments that emphasize natural materials, texture, light, color, proportion and movement. Team
Daniel Heighes Wismer is a graduate of the University of Michigan College of Architecture and Urban Planning and received a master’s degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation. Daniel began his career at Gabellini Sheppard and later joined the firm of S. Russell Groves.
Gregory Dufner received a Bachelor of Architecture from the Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture of The Cooper Union in New York City. Upon graduation, he founded Dufner Heighes with Daniel Heighes Wismer. Over 10 years, their work has included apartments and townhouses in New York City, high-end residences across the country, and the interiors for a 183-foot Italian sailing yacht.

Dufner Heighes’ work has been featured in The New York Times, Metropolitan Home, Interior Design Magazine, Surface magazine, and Connecticut Cottages and Gardens, among others. Upcoming publications include Martha Stewart Living (August 2009). Dufner Heighes’ furniture has been featured at the Chicago Design Show, Felissimo New York Foundation for the Arts, and at Margaret Thatcher Projects in New York City. Most recently Dufner Heighes’ work was featured at the Hamptons Cottages and Gardens 2008 Idea House—a marriage of luxury and sustainability.
